I am a Christ-following dreamer with an adoration of stories and penchant for travel. You could also say my heart flutters at the mention of coffee. Or more accurately, once I consume too much of it.
Corny jokes aside, please read more about my blog and check out my Instagram and professional website through the links provided below.

So what is the deep end?

Freshman year of college, a friend and I discovered that whenever we talked, we tended to drift toward topics of existential proportions. We called this the "deep end" and joked about forgetting to put our floaties on if we all of a sudden discovered the turn in the conversation.

Now, as I embark on a semester-long trip to Thailand, I can't help but feel that I'm jumping into the deep end again. The deep end means many things for me - uncertainty, unfamiliarity, unknown. It means having hard discussions that don't end in easy resolutions and embracing differences as I encounter people and culture I don't know. It means trying new food. And yes, I'm sure it will probably mean dealing with some bugs.

In this example, the floaties are my buffers of familiarity and comfort, yet I slide them off willingly. I can't wait to dive in, not because I'm confident in my swimming abilities, but because I know that being in over my head is one of the best places to meet the peace of God. Whatever He has for me in the deep end, I commit to trust Him. As I lean in, I hope you'll follow along and maybe even gain something from my experience.

You ready?
